Hmmm, I think Seven Preposterous Things most closely gets at the real heart of the characters for me because the author makes it a point to show how flawed they are. Snape isn't some romantic character in a billowing black cape, he's a jealous, trashy, petty man, and yet the reader still ends up rooting for him. The language in this story gets pretty vulgar at times, which oddly adds to the charm of it for me, but if you're bothered by such things, be forewarned.

On the subject of your story, someone was requesting links to any fics where Snape and Hermione raise a de-aged Harry together. I almost recc'd In Loco, but part of their request was for Snape and Hermione to end up together in the end and I wasn't sure if you were going there or not.
