You can add LJs to your reading page, but it won't show you anything you'd have to be logged in to see, so you won't get any flocked things. I keep up my LJ flist for that reason. Now that you're on DW, I've removed you from my flist default view, and added you to DW.
I'd keep your LJ for the simple reason that you might want to be able to comment to other peoples' entries, but turn off commenting. You do that by going to the Profile tab on the menu bar (the one that has options for Home Profile Journal Friends etc.) and selecting Settings. That brings you to a page with a line of tabs on the top. Select "Privacy" and in the list it says Enable Comments. You can set it to allow comments only from friends, or from nobody at all. Either will stop the spam.
