Thanks so much for reading and commenting! Actually, I'm almost sure the Church of England doesn't use this liturgy, though it probably uses one derived from it. It's one of the things I Meant to look up and never got back to. Maybe I'll check now.
However, as the Council is way older than the English split from Rome, it's not impossible that the Council retained Roman Catholic traditions and practices. Certainly it has a certain patriarchal viewpoint a medieval abbot would be quite at home with.... And Giles does say, "Whatever happened to Latin? At least when that made no sense, the Church approved...."
