Music from the Cube - Hobgoblinn style
Liz Marcs has a fantastic service she provides her many readers-- she downloads music from her vast collection as sample tracks on this site and she provides ratings/ info about the artists-- how to get the whole CD.
I am not nearly so cool as Liz, but a friend of mine was feeling low today and I tried to suggest some music which might lift her spirits a bit. I sent her a couple of mp3's via e-mail, but one wouldn't go through. So I remembered Liz's music downloads and thought this might be a good solution.
Download music here:
This is from the CD Christmas with the Cincinnati May Festival Chorus, and these are the Least "Christmas-like" tracks, and some of my favorite on the album. I am singing in there somewhere, as a second alto. The one I was trying to send my friend (you know who you are) is similar to another by the same composer: Morten Lauridsen's O Magnum Mysterium is a lot like his Lux Aeterna, which I am rehearsing for an upcoming performance with a local community chorus. Beautiful stuff, which touches that place in the soul where hope springs eternal.
Anyway, enjoy, all. I have to get the boy ready for Boy Scouts, and our house ready for our landlord's insurance adjustor to inspect the place. Gad! Good night, all.
Hope to goodness all these links work....
