I don't think so-- you can kind of switch from cards view to text pane(s) easily enough, and have the card pertaining to the current view pane up as you're writing. I'm on a 15 inch screen here and (except for needing bifocals) it's perfectly fine. Of course, I'm not using every feature yet, either.
