Speaking as a man who thought he'd never have children and then married into one, I can relate to his concern. I had the same concern when my wife and I started to get serious in our courtship.

This is going to sound like a cliche, but all he can do is be who he is. But if he's the good man you say he is, that will be plenty. And a good male role model for the Wee Hob definitely wouldn't hurt.
