hobgoblinn's back (sort of)

At this point, I don't know who may or may not remember me, but as I have been thinking about trying to start writing again, one of the things I've realized is that keeping this blog was a bigger part of my writing process and inspiration than I had realized. I need to start making time for it again. I have other very fulfilling things in my life, but I am a writer, and I miss that.

My life is not going to get any less busy being a teacher and mom of a 15 year old now (Wee Hob is not quite so Wee anymore), so waiting until I have more time is clearly not going to cut it.

So, my plan is to start writing in this journal on a more regular basis, and to start keeping up with a much more limited friends list. If I cut you and you feel strongly about it, let me know. But know that I am in a very different place than I was two years ago. I have almost no interest in fandoms of any sort, though I am still trying to finish the stories I started in both the Buffy and the Harry Potter fandoms. If you want to keep me on your list in case I announce something along those lines, feel free. But this blog is likely to revolve around my musings about faith, and life, and meaning, and the questions and doubts my reading about fossils and evolution and the origins of life are raising for me.

Before I started any of this, though, I thought I should say thanks to the many people who have given and shared so much with me.

Nice to see you again! How have you been?

I don't really care about fandom anymore - but I enjoy hearing about everyone's lives.

Good to see you around! I am posting very rarely myself, but you should be on the filter to see when I post, if you are interested.

I recently listened to a very interesting series of lectures by an evolutionary biologist at Yale. If you're curious I can shoot you the link.

I have missed seeing your icon pop up. It's good to see you back.

*hugs*

I'm so happy you've decided to start posting again! I've missed you and think about you often.

I wish we lived closer, we could sit and have a whole conversation about issues of faith and evolution. Honestly, the more I learn about biology and evolution and the Bible, the more I believe in God. It's the people that make faith hard for me.

It's been a difficult year for me and a lot of my issues have revolved around faith. So, you know, I know where you're coming from.

*hugs* again!

Hi there! It's good to hear from you again. I'm glad to hear life is going so well. I'm still entrenched in fandom - I sort of down I ever won't be - but I'm still interested in hearing about your life.

I remember you! Welcome back.

15? Wow, that was fast. Time Jr will be 16 this summer. We will be visiting a couple of colleges out west, just to check them out while we are visiting family.

Well, of course I remember you! Glad to see you back around!

I've MISSED you!

Regardless of how active in fandom you are, I'm always pleased to see you on my friends page. Glad to hear you'll be taking up your pen again.

Lovely to have you back!

Glad you're doing well -- and good thoughts for your journaling process!

It's . . . it's alive! *wink*

Good to have you back!

I won't pressure you about the faith stuff, though you know, as an avowed atheist, I prefer not to talk about God anyway. *wink* But seriously, if you ever want to chew my ear--well, make my monitor run with text, anyway--I'm here.

Hey nice to hear from you again! I'm the same way with fandoms...I've not finished my 4 part story either since I got pregnant last year. I just had my son, early, in March. Check out my journal to see pictures of him! So yeah, I'm a tad busy too and can't really write much. I've been wondering how you and Wee Hob were doing though...

Glad to have you back, and it's good to hear things are going well for you and (not so) Wee Hob. I'm still heavily in fandom, and even more polyfannish than ever since I don't have a Great Fannish Love at the moment, but being a seminary student the stuff you want to talk about sounds interesting in its own right ;)

My LJ is just a clone of my my Dreamwidth journal at this point, but you don't need a DWJ to comment on my entries there; you can sign in using OpenID with your LJ information. All my fics are archived at An Archive Of Our Own.

It's so nice to see a post from you! I sure hope you keep me around. I enjoy your 'life' posts.

As far as fandom goes, I've not been in it much lately either, although with Summer of Giles starting, I feel I need to submit something, so I'm trying to write that now.

But yeah! A post from you!
