Quick question - origin of phrase "Nimue Preserve us"

Quick question. I didn't start reading Harry Potter fanfic until right before Deathly Hallows came out. The reasons are too long and embarrassing to get into here, but suffice it to say, such fic is Not, in fact, all written by angsty sub-literate teenagers with novel ideas about how the human body works in sexual situations.

At any rate, I want to credit the phrase "Nimue preserve us" to whoever originated it, because if I hadn't read that phrase somewhere, I surely would never have thought to use it. Does anyone know where it came from (a really good fic, but I've no idea how recent, as it's all new to me) or if the phrase has passed into general usage in the fandom?

I can do a kind of anonymous credit and hope somebody comments on that part with an attribution, but I'm hoping one of my many new friends (hey, all. *waves shyly*) may know.

Okay, back to editing now.

I wish I could help with the citation, but alas, I've read it in so many fics now that I cannot remember where I read it first! It is kind of like using Circe preserve us or something similar because that one is so common now as well.

I can't remember where I first read it either. I love it when people plug in various literate mythical/magical/folklore names like this, though.

Well, I can at least narrow it down for you because it sounds familiar to me. That means it has to be Hermione/Snape and one of the fics on my master fic rec list.

I thought it was likely a HG/SS fic as well but wasn't entirely sure. It sticks in my head that I first read it in a fic on Ashwinder.

I'm thinking that, too. Because you, my dear, are the wicked woman who got me hooked on this stuff to start with. Let me know if you run across it. I don't need it until ch13, which is a ways from being polished.
