hobgoblinn's back (sort of)

At this point, I don't know who may or may not remember me, but as I have been thinking about trying to start writing again, one of the things I've realized is that keeping this blog was a bigger part of my writing process and inspiration than I had realized. I need to start making time for it again. I have other very fulfilling things in my life, but I am a writer, and I miss that.

My life is not going to get any less busy being a teacher and mom of a 15 year old now (Wee Hob is not quite so Wee anymore), so waiting until I have more time is clearly not going to cut it.

So, my plan is to start writing in this journal on a more regular basis, and to start keeping up with a much more limited friends list. If I cut you and you feel strongly about it, let me know. But know that I am in a very different place than I was two years ago. I have almost no interest in fandoms of any sort, though I am still trying to finish the stories I started in both the Buffy and the Harry Potter fandoms. If you want to keep me on your list in case I announce something along those lines, feel free. But this blog is likely to revolve around my musings about faith, and life, and meaning, and the questions and doubts my reading about fossils and evolution and the origins of life are raising for me.

Before I started any of this, though, I thought I should say thanks to the many people who have given and shared so much with me.

Glad to have you back, and it's good to hear things are going well for you and (not so) Wee Hob. I'm still heavily in fandom, and even more polyfannish than ever since I don't have a Great Fannish Love at the moment, but being a seminary student the stuff you want to talk about sounds interesting in its own right ;)

My LJ is just a clone of my my Dreamwidth journal at this point, but you don't need a DWJ to comment on my entries there; you can sign in using OpenID with your LJ information. All my fics are archived at An Archive Of Our Own.

I went and looked at both Dreamwidth and An Archive-- I may want to get accounts there at some point, but I'll wait a bit on it. I need to get more stuff finished before I think about archiving anywhere else, and ff net is not too difficult in that regard now.

I was hoping you'd want to stay, given your area of study. As I told Father Turtle in the comments, my problems really aren't a thing that debate or evidence will help, but I read and welcome all comments, even if I might not be in a space to get into an extended conversation over them.
