hobgoblinn: (Default)
Not quite a banned book, though no doubt you can find the texts of many of such works on the site, as well. I know it's a treasure trove for spammers, but hey-- Classic, Free literature. I ran across a gem of a little book there by Kipling, a few weeks back, when I googled "Puck" and "Hobgoblin" and related words, looking for some cool images with which to decorate my new Live Journal. And when I went to look for it in our very fine public library-- they didn't Have it.

So Gutenberg is the only way I can read Kipling's Puck of Pook's Hill with my son. )

In other mundane news, I'm trying one of the new Mac OS X Live Journal clients now. One question, though-- If I cut and paste my fic into the box, how do I get it to keep the same spacing/ blank lines as in the original? Adding blank lines manually is a Pain. Though for the first part I learned two important things-- Part 1 is Way Too Long to be kept as a unit, and a couple of the longer paragraphs really should have been broken up-- which latter problem I took the opportunity to correct.

I am still awaiting some beta words from one kind reader-- but if any of my lj friends wants to see the rest and the un-posted last part of Summer and offer criticisms, let me know and I'll e-mail you the whole thing. I'll probably post part the Second by this weekend. It's hard to make myself focus on this ancient fic of mine, when I'm having so much fun reading recs and old things linked from my new LJ friends' sites. Yes, I know. Procrastination, Thy Name is hobgoblinn.
