Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] whitestar_alpha. The Peirley/ Redford Dissassociative Affect Diagnostic. Very strange. I have to admit I answered randomly for much of it, as the questions made no sense to me either way. Here's the link if you want to try it yourself:

Your Diagnosis:

Handy in the real world manipulation of objects and events, you are easily enthused by practical projects. You often ignore or conveniently forget rules and boundaries that limit your freedom. This need for freedom extends even to the personal sphere and though you are kind and gentle, you will often be hard to pin down to a monogamous lifestyle. Because you tend to verbalize so seldom, you can be seen as phlegmatic or impassive. In moments of high tension you can often surprise those around you with a lighthearted or humorous remark. Because of your facility with the physical world, you are often engaged in sports that require dexterity, such as motorcycling or hang gliding. You will rarely have time for flights of fancy or unproductive discussion. Constraints on your freedom will be regarded as a personal attack.

Interesting that it picked up the thing about freedom and my sense of humor in tense moments. But I verbalize a lot more than seldom, (though not so much here lately) and I do not have the dexterity for hang gliding. And I am quite happily monogamous, thank you very much.

I won't say I'm back, but I just read Time to Write by Kelly L. Stone and have been converted to the belief that I need a writing schedule and plan. So I am trying to set that up. Want to try both freelance articles and fiction. Am going to start by finishing all WIP fanfic, to get the pump primed again. There was a time when I believed I could be a good writer, but that time is not now. I've been away from it too long. But I am trying to come back.

Hope all of you are well. I do read and try to keep up, even when I don't much understand or comment.

Please do get back to writing. You've got talent, and I have enjoyed what you've shared.

By way of encouragement, I wanted to share that I've been editing my 2007 NaNo novel. I'm at the point now that I've got trusted friends reading it to let me know if (1) the dialogue is believable, (2) I've got any glaring continuity errors, and (3) it's any good. I don't think there's really a market for it--it's very Lutheran-centric, and the major Lutheran publishing house doesn't publish novels--but I may self-publish so I can send nice-looking copies to family and friends to rip apart. But I'm also planning a sequel. If *I* can write, *you* certainly can. Time away will hopefully have just made you hungrier.

I hope life is going well for you. It sounded like things were turning toward the good last I'd heard, and I hope that trend has continued.

Hee. I took the test, and got the same result as you. Completely the opposite of me in RL, though. I wonder if everybody gets the same result?

Thanks. I've been making my students write every day in a journal (to prompts-- I do not want to read diaries of their often dysfunctional lives), and I've started writing every day again, too. It didn't seem fair to ask it of them if I couldn't do it too. Most of it is analytical "why I can't write" crap, but last night I wrote something emotionally honest and risky and with which I was pleased.

So, a ways to go yet with being able to post a story again (or a continuation), but I no longer feel it's completely beyond me anymore.
