Wow. I certainly wasn't expecting this today. Thanks for the feedback on this. It was very cool to write, and I learned a lot from it, and I am delighted beyond measure that you liked it.
I seem to have a thing for making unsympathetic characters -- less so. Maybe I should be worried about that, on a psychological level. I started a novel in grad school that I abandoned when I realized I was trying too hard to redeem an abusive character. Well, that, and I didn't know how it ended.
But fanfic is a place for creating niches of meaning, and this is, right now, where I feel I can find things to say that haven't already been said to death in the fandom.
