I think at the time, I intended that to be a lot shorter than it came out-- hence the time cues problem. I can go back and look at it again. As with a lot of this fic, things kind of grew.
As to the Eulogy, hmm. Unfortunately, I don't have any idea what he said. Or I didn't at the time. But now, realizing that he is seething inside, or painfully conflicted about it all, and having to hold himself together just as much as Spike -- there's a lot more potentially going on there than the painfully trite stuff that I was trying to avoid at the time.
Hmm. I'll think on this some more. Though, damn. I really want this to be done with before November rolls around....
And, on a technical note, I was using Phoenix 1.9.5 for OS X, and I turned off the autoformatting as you suggested-- and the only difference was, instead of losing the one line between the paragraphs I kinda lost 2-- that is, I had to put in two line breaksbetween every paragraph to get them separated, where before at least it indented the new paragraphs....
Sigh. Maybe I should download a different LJ client and see what I can do with it. In any event, thanks tons for the feedback!
