I think I may have done something like this before, but I'll play.

A. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
B. Tag seven people to do the same.
C. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it."

1. I have no idea where my default picture actually came from. Some medieval manuscript I found right after I started my journal and was surfing around for cool pictures. It's not even the right size, really. I occasionally go out surfing and try to find what margin of what ms it's in.

2. The first time I was in Music Hall in Cincinnati, and in Carnegie Hall, I was onstage. Though I'm on hiatus now until Wee Hob can be relied upon to not burn down the house or invite the neighborhood over while I'm gone, I was a member of the May Festival Chorus. When I go back, I should be eligible for my 5 year service pin.

3. I eat Chinese food with chopsticks. Even rice. Other than that, coordinated is not a word I'd use for self-description.

4. I can usually come up with a viable harmony to a song by the second verse; sometimes by the chorus, if it's simple enough. I also compose music, though I seldom write it down. If I've heard a song, I can probably play it, especially hymn tune type music. I play piano by ear.

5. I own, and have worn, a class A Boy Scout uniform. It says "Troop Committee" on the arm patch. I do not yet have the cool patch that says "trained" on it.

6. A quick look at my first few posts will reveal that I was way more lost than any of the newcomers on my friends list now: Hob's Journal, Sept 2006

(I had to change my journal layout in order to access my calendar to get that link. So there's another bonus fact: I change my journal layout more often than some folks change their socks. I don't do anything more than use the pre-configured layouts, though I will change fonts if it's permitted on that layout. I'm fond of Papyrus as a font.)

7. I seldom follow the rules of meme-age, so I generally tag back "whoever wants to do it." It gives me the same vicarious thrill I get from deleting chain letters unread or deliberately breaking them and heaping still more bad luck upon my unfortunate self.

Never wore a boy scout uniform, but I actually was a boy scout in high school in the form of explorer scouts. Got ground school for a private pilot's license that way. :)

Wish my hometown had had such a thing when I was in high school-- I would have liked to be in a law enforcement Explorer Post. Or just have had the opportunity to go camping and do all that cool stuff while I was still young enough to be able to keep up.

I can't wait until Wee Hob is old enough for Explorers, except they're called Venture Crews now, and are more diverse in what they do. Troop 8's Venture Crews have in the past been more focused on doing high adventure activities like rappelling and climbing. But the Venture Uniform is way cooler than the Scout one.

Of course, I will never voluntarily leap off the side of a perfectly good cliff, ropes and safety gear notwithstanding. So I will probably never have need to have a Venture Uniform.

I was part of the police explorer program! I was a seargent and have a commendation letter from the police chief somewhere in all of my crap. As for entertaining uniforms, for the Melodious Musichemical Manifestation (chem demo show) I needed a class A military uniform. Since the Army took mine back, I ended up with a total hodgepodge of an Air Force uniform. It looked quite funny to anyone who knew that some of those patches and what not would never be combined with certain others (mainly the rank stripes). It also didn't help that the trousers were a tad bit too small at the waist. I got stuck in them...it sucked.

Heheh. There is a certain thrill to be taken from deleting chain letters. A not-to-be-named family member is always sending me those things. With all the bad luck I've accumulated over the years,it's amazing the world doesn't come crashing down around me. ;)
