Well, really, not so much. I think I might have caught some lovely food borne illness over the holiday. The really ironic part of this is that I'M THE ONE who gave the obligatory "How to avoid food borne illness" talk at our company's last safety meeting two weeks ago. Yeah. There goes my credibility. Thankfully, I'm not management, and in no danger of becoming so. Though I suppose if I were, the whole credibility deficiency would help me fit right in. Cynical, much?
I was very bad yesterday. I wrote a Little, but I read a lot more, mostly stuff
antennapedia mentioned in her birthday tribute to
penwiper26. Damn fine writing. I ended up getting sucked in the her "Shadow though It Be". I'm glad I didn't know how long it was when I started it, because I might have given it a pass otherwise. This is something I almost wish Weren't in the Buffyverse, because the OC is so well crafted, and Giles goes so far outside what we've seen from him, and doesn't rely on one's having seen the show for the emotional connection. Superb.
Sadly, she's not mutually friended me, so I doubt she'll see that feedback. And I feel too crummy to figure out how to rectify that just now....
I also downloaded a Bunch of Marshall Crenshaw recced by
liz_marcs. Very cool. Took a long time and was distracting to writing, with itunes popping up and trying to play each song as it finished downloading.
Anyway, I'm going to take another stab at getting through the three scenes the muse has left seeds of in my fevered brain. And I commit to continuing to write, daily, at least the 200 words I committed to for mini nanowrimo (and hit or exceeded all but 3 days so far-- and those were when I was squandering my evening on stage singing.) until this current story is completed. It still needs a cool name, if anyone feels inspired....
Good night, all.
