Happy Birthday, Antennapedia!!
Nov. 26th, 2006 01:28 pmI hope everyone who knows this gracious lady (and quite awesome writer) will join me in a virtual toast to the occasion. Those of you who know her, know she is generous beyond measure, witty, kind. And those are just a few of her bad qualities. I'm not listing out her good ones unless I can get nano word count credit for it....
I followed her out here into the world of Live Journal from one of her stories posted on a yahoo group, and I was delighted to find a kindred soul, and someone who was brave enough to get involved in a fandom which I then feared was dying. The show at least, was over, and I saw very few new voices chiming in. She did, and man, what a voice. And she enticed me in to chime in, as well.
It looks like the Tweedybookguy has already given her a nice present today-- the well-deserved Tweedy Award for October for her story "Breaking Glass." But I'd encourage her friends to go re-read some of her gems and offer feedback-- surely the best present an author can receive. And if, in the unlikely event one of my friends has Not heard of her-- go read. You won't be sorry.
Here's a convenient link to her fic: http://www.midnightlore.net/anthonyhead/archive/authors.php?no=107
"The Adventure of the Displaced Watcher" and "Substitute" are two of my personal favorites, in addition to the aforementioned "Breaking Glass" above.
Happy Birthday, Antennapedia.
