Well, Casa Hobgoblinn is back online. For the moment. And the repair guy said someone Should have been out here within 24 hours last weekend, like I was originally told. Ah well. He suggested raising hell with the customer service office again on Monday.

At any rate, to celebrate, there shall soon be fic, in a new fandom for me. I have a couple of Harry Potter fics eating away at me just now. But never fear, the end of the Giles and Willow and Ethan thing is also coming, and the first parts may be in shape to start posting as soon as later this weekend.

I should say, though, that unless things take a hugely unexpected turn, that fic will in no way become a "threesome." It's genfic, folks. Sorry. But still worth the read. I hope.

Finally, a question for my comic book geek friends, especially [livejournal.com profile] thule222 and [livejournal.com profile] stormwreath: what two comic book characters would Andrew likely equate to Willow and her mind reading abilities? Help me out here, please.

Um... I'm not a comic book geek. The Buffy and Angel comics are the only ones I've ever read in years and years. So I can't really help you, I'm afraid.

I can suggest Lyta Alexander from Babylon 5, though, as an incredibly powerful telepath with red hair whose eyes turn solid black when she uses her powers - Andrew might be able to spot a vague similarity between her and Willow. :-)

Oh, and Wikipedia has a page on "fictional telepaths" which might help, although it doesn't say how famous each one is. There's apparently a powerful telepath called Proessor Xavier in the X-men comics, which is relevant since Joss wrote for that series.

ooo-- thanks again-- I didn't even think of wikipedia for this. That's what lack of Internet will do to the brain.....

I'm sorry-- your reviews on the comics are so great, I just assumed you'd know the genre inside and out. My apologies. And thanks for the suggestion. My pop culture ignorance leaves me at a serious disadvantage where Andrew is concerned. I haven't seen B5, but I can definitely use this.

Sorry I missed this. Andrew's an X-Man fan so I'd guess Jean Grey. She's a redheaded telepath with a 'girl next door' thing going on.

Jean actually has about four names and a complex history. She started out good and low powered, and called herself Marvel Girl. Then she got a big power boost and went by Phoenix. Then she went crazy and tried to blow up the world and called herself Dark Phoenix. Then she got all redeemed and went back to Jean Grey, her actual name, as sort of a sign of growth.

This all predates the Willow arc, and as Joss is also an X-Man fan, may have influenced it.

If you want a second character, maybe Emma Frost? Also an X-Man, she started off bad and went good, but nobody trusts her. She's not as good a match though.

Wikipedia has lots of information on these two.

Oh wow, this is perfect. Thanks for the info. I'll use Jean Grey for sure. And credit you appropriately for your help.

Hope things are good where you are. Take care,

Hob
