I shall be horribly boring for the next 30 days. But hopefully I'll be generating some not boring stuff for us all to eventually read.

Last night I went home and banged out this many words in a couple of hours. It's a continuation on the Harry Potter Age Regression thing that's been eating away at me lately. However, never fear-- when I get stuck, I have other ideas to fall back on, including finishing last year's novel.

[livejournal.com profile] antennapedia made this word meter for me last year, and I am delighted to use it again. Wish I could make the color be Slytherin green, but I'm not sure I could manage that even if I could see her source code. And it is Slytherin Silver. So that rocks. Though I think I would have sorted into Ravenclaw, myself.

Anyway, I'm proud of myself for a first day. And surprised how easily I got to this count, even taking time for dinner and discussion with Wee Hob. Writing is like any other muscle I suppose-- requires some use to get stronger.

Now to get through another day in hell.

BTW-- is anyone else following Moon Magic? Snape and Faith (and Riley and Willow, and hey, a spell gone wrong, which explains why Willow's there). [livejournal.com profile] lit_gal is absolutely Nailing both Snape and Faith's voices here. I haven't seen that many crossovers that navigate both worlds well-- I told [livejournal.com profile] lit_gal I thought it was because combining the two worlds made the ridiculous aspects of both reach a kind of critical mass. But this is really off to a promising start. I highly recommend it.

Okay, but you have to read the final version of "Lost Boys" first.

And here-- try this link (if it doesn't work, go to Nov 2nd last year's entry and scroll through the threads; that's where [livejournal.com profile] antennapedia gave me this last year.)

And thanks for the congrats. How's your ghost editing coming?
