Been a nice weekend so far. Even if I had to work a bit Friday morning from home. I'm hoping to get comp time out of it-- my vacation is taking 6 days instead of 5 thanks to plane schedules. In addition to making me look good for the new Overlords, I felt kinda responsible for the fact that I was on the phone with one of our sales reps trying to get some clarification of program specs out of him when he was in a car accident. He's fine, and the fault was neither his nor mine, but still. Under the circumstances he was quite gracious to me about it. We'll see how he is on Monday.

It rained almost all day, so I did some more work on In Loco. Around 9:00 I walked with Wee Hob and two neighbor goblins to the Fourth at the Fort in Tower Park. Nice walk, even if we weren't in the best place for seeing the fireworks, and it was really overcast with low clouds. One of the shells exploded very close to the ground-- nobody was hurt, luckily. Was a very interesting effect. The boys were pretty good, too. Think I'll take them to the Riverfront for Labor Day, maybe with the goblin's folks.

Anyway, after applying some beta correction from [livejournal.com profile] sahiya and Wee Hob, I have got Ch 9 of In Loco posted. Find it here. Now I really have to focus on Giles and Willow and Ethan. Hey, [livejournal.com profile] gillo? You up for some tutoring me in remedial geography?

The good news with In Loco is, I finally know where it's going, and it's a much different and better place than it was going. The mixed news for the BtVS story is, the first part is in good shape for posting on my assigned day. It's so long, though. And it needs a major rewrite on the last parts.

Ah well. I better get to it. Happy weekend, everyone.

You bet. School's out and I actually have free time. Point me where you need me to look!

I'm really going to have to start reading that again, but will pass for a couple weeks while I sort out my own writing...which is actually happening. *is shocked and awed*

Sounds like quite a nice holiday. Hope the rest of the weekend is as good!

Clavally writing! I'll look forward to that. I thought your idea about scents as prompts was a great one, a good way in to seeing the world in an unusual way. Is that what your final table ended up being, though? Is "WalMart" a BPAL scent??

It'll be fun to see what you come up with.

Oh, no, the table is final, but the prompts are 5 things from 5 categories. Top row is scent, 2nd row colors, 3rd moods, 4th, places and 5th songs.

It was supposed to be just drabbles, but they're suddenly all connecting in my head.

I'm tempted to call the series "5 by 5" but that might be a little reminiscent of Faith, lol.

Your 4th sounds v. nice -- and I bet those kids' parents were appreciative!

I'm not sorry that your Giles-fic is long, of course ... I hope the re-write is satisfying.

Enjoy what's left of your weekend!
