At this point, I don't know who may or may not remember me, but as I have been thinking about trying to start writing again, one of the things I've realized is that keeping this blog was a bigger part of my writing process and inspiration than I had realized. I need to start making time for it again. I have other very fulfilling things in my life, but I am a writer, and I miss that.

My life is not going to get any less busy being a teacher and mom of a 15 year old now (Wee Hob is not quite so Wee anymore), so waiting until I have more time is clearly not going to cut it.

So, my plan is to start writing in this journal on a more regular basis, and to start keeping up with a much more limited friends list. If I cut you and you feel strongly about it, let me know. But know that I am in a very different place than I was two years ago. I have almost no interest in fandoms of any sort, though I am still trying to finish the stories I started in both the Buffy and the Harry Potter fandoms. If you want to keep me on your list in case I announce something along those lines, feel free. But this blog is likely to revolve around my musings about faith, and life, and meaning, and the questions and doubts my reading about fossils and evolution and the origins of life are raising for me.

Before I started any of this, though, I thought I should say thanks to the many people who have given and shared so much with me.

Nice to see you again! How have you been?

I don't really care about fandom anymore - but I enjoy hearing about everyone's lives.

Marriage and Life are really good. I love my job but need to find one that doesn't expect me to teach 7 classes a week and grade all that writing and call everyone who was absent and tutor and teach people to read and write and reason and....

You get the idea. Beloved is supportive of my writing and anything that helps with that, so we'll see how this goes.

You were not going anywhere, though. If I defriended you accidentally, just yell. I just made a pretty impressive purge.

Hope you're also well. *hug*

Good to see you around! I am posting very rarely myself, but you should be on the filter to see when I post, if you are interested.

I recently listened to a very interesting series of lectures by an evolutionary biologist at Yale. If you're curious I can shoot you the link.

I'd love to see that link. I've read Dawkins The Ancestor's Tale (all 900 pages of it) and am in his The Blind Watchmaker now. I already was struggling with my faith, and the Church scandals have not helped, so this has given me a lot to think about. I think until I sort out what I believe or don't, I'm not going to have the energy to create any kind of fiction.

Yale has a couple dozen courses posted online to watch or listen to online for free. I've been making my way through a bunch of them.

I hope you can find comfort again. My family runs the gamut from taking vows to complete atheists, and the conclusion I've come to is that the most important thing is to have a peace within yourself as to your beliefs, whatever they may be.

I'm so happy you've decided to start posting again! I've missed you and think about you often.

I wish we lived closer, we could sit and have a whole conversation about issues of faith and evolution. Honestly, the more I learn about biology and evolution and the Bible, the more I believe in God. It's the people that make faith hard for me.

It's been a difficult year for me and a lot of my issues have revolved around faith. So, you know, I know where you're coming from.

*hugs* again!

Hi there! It's good to hear from you again. I'm glad to hear life is going so well. I'm still entrenched in fandom - I sort of down I ever won't be - but I'm still interested in hearing about your life.

I remember you! Welcome back.

15? Wow, that was fast. Time Jr will be 16 this summer. We will be visiting a couple of colleges out west, just to check them out while we are visiting family.

Lovely to have you back!

Good to have you back!

I won't pressure you about the faith stuff, though you know, as an avowed atheist, I prefer not to talk about God anyway. *wink* But seriously, if you ever want to chew my ear--well, make my monitor run with text, anyway--I'm here.

Hey nice to hear from you again! I'm the same way with fandoms...I've not finished my 4 part story either since I got pregnant last year. I just had my son, early, in March. Check out my journal to see pictures of him! So yeah, I'm a tad busy too and can't really write much. I've been wondering how you and Wee Hob were doing though...

Glad to have you back, and it's good to hear things are going well for you and (not so) Wee Hob. I'm still heavily in fandom, and even more polyfannish than ever since I don't have a Great Fannish Love at the moment, but being a seminary student the stuff you want to talk about sounds interesting in its own right ;)

My LJ is just a clone of my my Dreamwidth journal at this point, but you don't need a DWJ to comment on my entries there; you can sign in using OpenID with your LJ information. All my fics are archived at An Archive Of Our Own.

It's so nice to see a post from you! I sure hope you keep me around. I enjoy your 'life' posts.

As far as fandom goes, I've not been in it much lately either, although with Summer of Giles starting, I feel I need to submit something, so I'm trying to write that now.

But yeah! A post from you!

I wish we lived closer too. But if you ever come to Cincinnati, you must drop by.

I think I'm actually having a lot of long standing problems about God, and this is just the way it's manifesting. Evidence one way or another is really not where the questions and doubts originated. For the longest time I was willing live in a suspension of disbelief and just keep doing music and mass despite that, but I'm not comfortable with that any longer.

I've missed you too, and it's good to be back.

*hugs* to you, too.

Looks like Dr. Who fandom these days-- are there others for you? What about your old fandoms-- HP or Buffy?

My husband has started me on the new Dr. Who, and it's very neat, but not in a "I want to write this" sort of way. I do like the thoughtful writing of the shows thus far, though. I just saw "The Family of Blood." a few nights ago.

Thanks for that, Padre. I may take you up on that at some point. As I told Clavally above in the replies, I'm in a sorting out stage, and evidence and proof are not really the problem. I know you wouldn't pressure me, and I appreciate it. I may not always respond to comments (particularly if my issues are not about debate) but I always read them, and I welcome them.

Thanks for the welcome back.

I went and looked at both Dreamwidth and An Archive-- I may want to get accounts there at some point, but I'll wait a bit on it. I need to get more stuff finished before I think about archiving anywhere else, and ff net is not too difficult in that regard now.

I was hoping you'd want to stay, given your area of study. As I told Father Turtle in the comments, my problems really aren't a thing that debate or evidence will help, but I read and welcome all comments, even if I might not be in a space to get into an extended conversation over them.

Thanks for the warm welcome back. I feel some guilt now about my Summer of Giles story that I have never finished-- but guilt is the antithesis of writing motivation, so I will try to avoid that. May need a beta at some point on it, though, if things go as planned.
