Where am I this weekend?
Sep. 29th, 2007 10:54 amJust a quick post to say I will not be around much online this weekend. I neglected to pack up my Mac's power cord with everything else yesterday, and thus I have 1:30 of power on this battery. I transferred my Harry Potter fic to my son's laptop, so I will be able to work on it there. If I get that finished up, I will transfer my Giles/Willow/Ethan fic over and do the same. I think I need to let some more stuff percolate on that one, though. Apologies to
gillo, who has been giving me some wonderful beta magic on that one so far. But it is a Novel, after all. It'll take us both a while to slog through.
My Wee Hob is off on the Fall Camporee with the Scouts, so I should have some uninterrupted time today. I got a flash on how the Harry Potter story ends now, which is why I'm working on it first-- I really want to FINISH something.
This limit to online access may work out as well or better than the last one-- at least I can't procrastinate that way. Of course, there's always laundry, and the Living Room decorated in pre-teen clutter. But that will probably not be so bad, either.
Sometime that's later, I will have to reflect here on the delicate balance between hard effort on a story, and stepping back to let stuff happen. Like this story ending. I got it in a flash of insight that couldn't be forced (while driving to lunch, actually). But if I hadn't been doing the work, even on stuff that will now have to be abandoned, I wouldn't have been in a place to receive it. (It would have been better still if I could have written down everything I saw then, but alas, I had no pen or paper on me. Also, Driving.)
Happy weekend to everyone.
