Oh, I'm starting to fall in love with this. It is quite slow-paced, but that gives the reader time to fall into the piece & appreciate it more fully.
The Snape-ghost is really moving, sometimes I feel as though I'm almost about to cry when I read some of his observations, like: “I’ve said before, I have no desire to uncover who or what I was. That life is over, and I’m sure it’s no loss.”
Snape-ghost is very convincing, both as a ghost & as Snape. It feels right that the ghost only has hazy recollections from his life, & yet his acerbic & sardonic tone is classically Snape!
