Just a quick drive by to say I've posted a new rec to

Paradise Lost is fanfiction on the Bible (Fall of Man, redemption) right down to the applying fanfic correction in the person of a much fleshed out Lucifer. To give one notable example amongst many.
And until relatively recently, authors Didn't get paid, or get paid a lot, for their work. Many still don't. But you might bring up Sarah Rees Brennan (
The way I see it, fanfic is, if you find the right group of betas/ reviewers/ audience, a lot cheaper and more useful than a Creative Writing degree from university. And it is so much less a waste of time than, say, television.
